Golly August already which means it’s my favourite time of year, harvest , I absolutely love it. To walk the dogs across the corn feels really special to me. Yesterday my aunt and I sat looking at our lovely fields together, they really are quite beautiful , I feel especially blessed when I walk around them thinking of the journey I’ve been on to get here.
This is a very special weekend , on Sunday sky will jump his second newcomer regional , I decided to do the two easiest ones , I have no intension of being competitive . I just want to show him around and see what he does as next year he will be a serious contender .
The one at arena uk I retired in the first round due to lack of control. I’m hoping I can complete the first round this time at patchetts .
I looked at sky’s goals for this year and am happy to say he has completed them all, he has all four newcomers and all four fox hunters and would have jumped two regionals on Sunday . I’m happy we are on track for next year now.
Sparkles is also going to a show on Sunday , his first one with me. I will hire Patchets on the way to addigton . Then stay at addington for two days with grace , and I will attempt the four year old warm up and the British novice .
I am quite nervous as I’ve no idea how he will be. He can be very naughty . He is a stallion but I have to say he is the nicest horse I’ve ever owned other than his grandad sky high.
So I will be a bit tense this weekend as a lot is at stake , I hope to god it all goes well and both do not let me down , I just really want the double clears and sparkles to be easy to manage. Anyway I will keep you informed …
