Arrived last night at addington , lovely journey down in the jumbalino. I’m so happy with the new horse box ,absolutely love an iveco truck😊
I stopped in at patchetts on the way through, having jumped sky there in the morning I decided to pop back and hire it out after the last class. It was a good idea to show sparkles some jumps before a show . It actually worked out well as Ben was their and he gave him a pop round. I was very pleaSed that sparkles is so easy for a stallion . He has a great future.
I was up early today as we are staying at the show, that is grace and me . I decided to give sparkles a lunge before I got on , you never know what the atmosphere can do to a horse, as it happens he was so calm and easy as I thought he would be.
He went into the ring and jumped a double clear that was faultless .
Grace also jumped a double clear, one of many I might add, except this time she never went through the finish , to be fair it was a very difficult finish line which she didn’t see.
Tomorrow I’m going in the four year old qualifier and the British novice then I will be coming home and back the next day with sky and vanilla. Sky jumped lovely at patchetts on Sunday and did a double clear round the 120 open I withdrew from the newcomers final as it was too strong for him at this stage.
Showjumping really is a great sport, it leads you all around the country to some amazing sights. I never have the. Hence to be nosy at a day show , but whilst I’m away I always take time to look around the area and go for a walk or a run. I can see addigton is set in a beautiful village . I’m currently sitting under a magnificent oak tree in the sun watching the show from a distance . It’s a very nice show ground with a very relaxed atmosphere , as I’ve been coming here for so long I’m definitely part of the family , so am made very welcome , like having a sneaky trot around the arena before the show started .
There are acres of country side here grazed mainly by sheep so it’s all very manicured . Lovely dressage arenas too. When we turned up there was a side saddle competition going on and the people were super snobby. Which was lovely and very refreshing strangely.
When you have horses that are capable of jumping clear rounds it puts a really different take on a show , so right now I’m really enjoying myself.
I’m about to watch the 130 now, a class which I have really missed being a part of . I shall run a get my sunglasses and a cool drink and catch up with all of you later. Toodle~pip
