What a fantastic week I’ve had so far. I decided to go to church with Robert on the early Sunday morning service, which I have to say is quite a push for me. I have no staff at the moment on Sunday’s , I manage quite well usually as most horses are in the fields now, but church starts at 8am and I have to feed and muck out before I go.
As it turned out , it ran smoothly , always does when it’s gods idea ~ when will I learn. Anyway I loved the service , it was very interesting , all about Jesus and what we can acheiev through him.
Afterwards we rushed home and I took sky straight to haughon hall, I felt he needed more rounds at 130 , now pathway has finished for the summer , I feel a little lost without my lessons , John always pushes me , so I decided to do more shows instead, anyway he was 6th in the foxhunter and 3rd in the 130. I was thrilled as I love it when I jump double clears , and now I am being competitive on him , he feels great. So addigton 130 tomorrow which will be a massive test, they build the biggest in the country , then Herts county on Saturday for the hoys band c qualifier.
Squeak is being jumped by my friend Ben , he rides youngsters well and as squeak is a bit nappy I think he is better at this stage with a tough bloke on board , I will take over when he needs educating and can take it . However , he has been placed 2nd in each British novice he’s done , which is a super result , he’s scopey and careful , I’m absolutely thrilled with him. He’s only just four , so I will give him a few months off in two weeks to chill out a bit .
Sparkles is just my favourite , I’ve worked very hard on him , he is a handful and does need proper riding , but he jumps a clear round at every show he goes to, I do love him, he’s fast scopey and careful and the easiest to ride .
I really feel I have three very good horses now, I have cut down on the full liveries and am having a few half liveries now , this enables chelsie to spend more time coming to shows with me , and less time on the yard doing pointless chores .also I have the liveries now helping me instead of the other way round . It’s so much easier and I seem to still earn the same money , if anything more , strange as it is , the best thing I ever did was letting Anna and nora go , I would never have acheieved what I have done I’d they were still on the yard .
Sparkles like squeak gets placed at every show , so they are very useful novices . Agento hasn’t been easy for his owner, I have let Ben ride him to get him going a bit , he has been placed in several classes now and he’s also going to addington tomorrow for his final test, I’m hoping he will be sweet so Claire can have him back, he’s such a lovely horse too, I’m hoping he does stay on the yard as he is a special horse and a pleasure to do.
Odette is beautiful , sweet and friendly , sablet is a wonderful mum, soon I will cover her again with sky. And continue to do this while he is able . The stud is coming along nicely and pentonvillelodge lodge is going to produce the best show jumpers in the country before you know it.
