Hi, today went well, the plan was to go in early and give all the horses a jump, to be ready for Wednesdays travelling, however, of course things never go to plan, firstly I had to wait for the painter to come to my house, so that was a delay. Anyway I got to the yard by 8.30 fresh and ready to help Laura (my head girl) with the last of the boxes to muck out, which was two.

After that I thought I would start with Sky, he is my top grand prix horse, he actually belongs to an actress in Egypt (long story).

As soon as I started with Sky I realized I was not up to it, well being ill on Sunday really took it out of me, not good right before a show, so I gave him some healthy flat work instead, he enjoyed that, I asked him lots of questions, like moving off the leg, gear changes, all things that would help his jumping without actually jumping, it went as well as to be expected.

Sablet, she is my own horse, she is also a grand prix horse, I did exactly the same with her, she was also very obedient which was pleasing as she has been a little bit tricky lately.

The other two, Romeo (Sinalt) and clover (Blackberry Way) I felt a lot stronger by this afternoon so was able to give them a jump. I did some V poles, which was a success with both of them. Clover is still a little too playful and a bit strong, so I have decided to let a friend ride him at the show on Thursday to see if he is easier with a man on . We will see.

Tomorrow I will jump Sky through a combination and pop a few fences with Sablet. Then I hope I’ve done enough for our 4 day competition. You will have to tune in Monday for the next blog.

It will be a peaceful night now for me, I shall pack my stuff and get ready to leave for the show tomorrow, its in Wales and will take 4 hours to drive there, but its a nice drive, I’m looking forward to it, when I get to the show just about all my horsey friends will be there, so I know we are in for an action packed weekend.

Talk soon.
