Oh Lord how lovely is Spring.
I do love it and the sounds of the birds outside my window. I’m lying on my bed listening with new bed sheets. Sheer bliss.
I walked the dogs yesterday and Garbo fell in the pond. When I looked up Beauty and Beast are standing next to my neighbors sheep, second look I realise the sheep is dead. Yikes. I can only assume it was dead already otherwise they’d be shot by now.
I took Sky to Pennies for a briefing for my world class performance trials tomorrow and she thinks he’d be the best one there. Let’s face it she would know, she’s bred many champions. I think that’s a great compliment.
He’s going well and has settled down a lot now he only eats hay, and he is slimmer but more sensible.
Sparkles is off to hers this week to, on Friday. Just to get going a bit then I will decide if I will do him myself.
The showjumping field looks amazing. I can’t wait to get out there. The going is excellent this year, much better than last year and there are no pot holes.
Sabbers foal looks imminent and I think tonight is very possible. I’ve prayed to God to make it easy for her. I’m actually really excited and I could see my Auntie was as well. I think tomorrow is going to be special.
My vet has taken over Rocky and I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I’ve no idea why the owners vet has been making him walk for so long as he has nervicular and it’s so important to keep going before it’s just to late, and finally my vet has organised the correct shoes for the horse and Rocky looks the soundest he’s been for a long time. Finally I’m optimistic.
I do hope his owner comes to see him soon as I’ve put so much work into this horse. I think we will jump him at the end of this month and then it’s simply down to management. I’m excited as I know Mark knows what he’s doing and my new farrier is absolutely awesome. He’s made a brilliant job of Sky and Romeo.
Anyway I will let you know how tomorrow goes.
