Day two National Championships
What a wonderful start to the day. I’m up early and I’ve taken care of Sky and Eddy and made sure they are really comfortable. Sky’s been in a particularly good mood at this show which means he’s going to jump well, he is so much like his dad “Sky High” he was very moody but if you got it right for him he would just jump clear round after clear round. I actually think little Sky is more daring but sadly more moody. Sometimes it’s just impossible to make him happy.
I always dread the away shows, yet it’s probably the most peaceful times of my life. I’m sat here in a field in the middle of nowhere “Solihull” writing my blog in the glorious sunshine, next to me is the Jumbalino, full of all the things I require for going away.
As it turned out Sky came seventh in the qualifier and won £66 and qualified to jump the 1.30 final. To be honest I’m not sure I want to do it as its a very noisy and a daunting arena, but we have paid so I shall give it some thought.
The farm here is a fencing company by the look of it, but a beautifully laid out place ideal for taking in liveries for the night, the lady is very pleasant with a lovely daughter who is very helpful and interested in our horses. I’m thinking how much God has helped me this year with the shows, all but Netley Hall have been successful and Sky has started to get placed at every 1.30 in the country, in the best company, making me realise that’s why he is on the Equine Pathway.
Now I shall go for a walk round the fields and then get ready for another days showjumping at the great Stoneleigh show ground.
