Equine pathway – second lesson, first season.

Arrived safely at Hartpury arena. I really like the venue here so I’m more than delighted to be here. It takes us three hours door to door and its a relatively nice journey.

My first lesson was today , thank god it was indoors as it rained heavily here.

I thought sky was a bit sharp and unsettled today, especially after we did a lot of trotting over fences , something he hates . He hates anything intricate. And trotting over fences with a three yard pole is intricate. So needless to say he got annoyed and sharp.

He settled down well once he got canter jumping, but I wasn’t sure what john was thinking, he did say he is very complex , well I did and he agreed but said in a nice way …I’m hoping that means he was overall pleased. I was but looking around me I can’t help thinking I’m very very lucky to be here as the calibre is much much higher than I think me and sky are.

I was asking the prices of the other six year olds and was very shocked to learn that 100k was the lowest price. I know sky does not look like that, so I’m wondering how long we will remain on the groups.

At least he does jump plenty of clear rounds , especially now, as I learned today they can obtain the horses record and I mean the good and the bad, but the last ten shows he’s jumped he did jump double clears, with the odd time fault its my fault, just losing my concentration.

So now I’m looking forward to tomorrow, I have a 9.30 lesson and so again I will watch the group before me. It helps me get to grips with what we are going to do.

Everything is good at home , and Robert is there walking my dogs, which is such a relief for me. I love to think of them going for a good run when I’m not there. Robert has been marvelous, I’ve never been this happy for so long with a anyone else I’ve dated. And everyone at the yard really really likes him and thinks he has had a positive impact on me.

Last week when we held the Pentonville Lodge show jumping and dressage championships for all my clients and pupils he really helped me with it all and we had a lovely big lunch afterwords which everybody really enjoyed. I will definitely have another fun day and now Robert wants me to teach him to ride. This would be nice as he wants to participate next year.

Winter is now here and although fairly mild it’s raining a lot , I’m wishing Dazzle had sold so I could go ahead with the horse walker, but horses really are not selling at all. I guess I’m stuck now until I do sell her.

Tonight mum and I will have a nice stew and watch the sting movie. I will let you all know how I do tomorrow, I’m praying he impresses the judges, wish me luck.
