Golly
I woke up this morning as normal and got ready in my usual fashion. I opened the front door to leave and was truly amazed at the snow all over my car and the street. I wasn’t expecting that, I don’t think anybody else was.
All in all it took over two hours to get to the yard. I was so unprepared for the journey and there was nothing I could do about it. I worry so much not being on time, in fact it’s been a lifetime worry. I have to feed the horses on time, naturally Chloe didn’t turn up. She came out with some excuse about her mothers car being crashed into. When I offered to get her apparently her mother was to distressed to let her go to work. Honestly these mothers are not making their children very hardy or responsible.
I often think of how God uses people for important roles in life in training for the bigger picture in Heaven, and because I’m so fiercely dependable to the stock I imagine he will give me something with huge responsibility in Heaven. As for other people they really are so disappointing.
This is the difference with me, in the hurricane in 1987 I lived 45 mins from my job in a car. I was 15 minutes late. It was never difficult for me to take on responsibilities. So even today if I had to walk I would have got there for those animals.
Thankfully God sent me another Angel. She volunteered to do some work for me some time ago and I called her at the last minute, but she came. God is faithful.
So I spent the day mucking out every stable thoroughly and cleaning all the tack, as Chloe hasn’t really being doing it very well lately. So now everything is back to normal. I will have to go over all this with her this week. I hope she steps up a bit otherwise I’m on my own all over Xmas. Sigh …
