I enjoyed myself yesterday riding in my field.

A friend sent me a Michel Robert video of some jumping exercises. It was so refreshing as basically I do need to challenge myself a bit, my flat work by all accounts has always been very good and I’ve always had a natural feel for it. 

However I don’t push myself on my horses until I see someone in super league doing something I like which I can do in my sleep. That’s inspiring, so I watched a video and decided that’s what I’m going to do tomorrow, with all my horses, good or bad.

So I ended up giving Sky a lot of work in my field, the going was perfect so I could push him, and I really went after his flying changes.

So today at the show the improvement was mighty. He was firstly very submissive and then jumped fab for it.

He is such a complex horse, but I understand him well and he likes me which is good. On Sunday I went to Brook Farm and although he jumped a double clear he was very difficult and I could see he was sorry about it. Today he was perfect and I could see he was happy, it’s quite funny how they know.

He’s a born jumper and finds it all terribly easy and because of that he will not knuckle down and listen. Then he makes a silly unnecessary mistake. Which I’m starting to get fed up with.

Anyway, I have a lot to do with ways to improve his flat work, then I should get a lot more from him.

Tomorrow I have some customers for Dazzle. She’s basically a good straight mare and I really hope these people fall in love as I need to get a walker and there is no other way. My HGV is also for sale to help raise the money.

I really hope by the end of the month both are sold. I haven’t heard from my owner with Rocky and I’m wondering if he will come back. I’m also wondering if he will settle his account. I hope so as it would be a shame to think someone would be a client for so many years and not pay you in the end.

I’m fairly sure he won’t as I thought he thought more of me than that. I will no doubt soon find out.

My next show is Addington for two days next week. I’m going to really practice for that. I need three more double clears, three Fox and three Newcomers as I have one of each this week. Not bad.
