Today was a great day for me, I walked the six year olds and was thinking this is a hell of a track, would I be over facing sky if I did it. Actually he is the bravest horse I’ve ever ridden so I knew that probably wouldn’t happen if I rode well. I had a late draw so was lucky to give it plenty of thought and I decide to give him a few big ones in the warm up and see if he’s jumping with confidence . Typically he was jumping with confidence , then I thought as long as I get my lines perfectly he would do the rest. He was absolutely fab, just a delight on the distances which suited him because they were long and he’s so forward anyway I thought it would back him off.
He ended up with one fence down which was after the water he’s big weakness , he just is a bit bold and did not back off as he should have done. I was pleased with the way I rode him as I was quite nervous as I haven’t jumped a strong 130 in a few years .
Sparkles was a bit weak needs a lot of pulling together but without a doubt will be a star . I couldn’t be any happier with the way I produced them.
