It was a really lovely day today. As you know I took the horses schooling at Towerlands which was great fun. I took Vanilla because she is so green and needs experience, Romeo because he gets so nervous when he is not competed regularly and Sabbers as I need the practise with the new bridle.

Mum came and as you know she is not the best at building fences and tends to count each hole number to be accurate and then the jumps always seem to fall down the minute she touches them. The other thing she tends to do is put it up as soon as I’ve jumped it, sometimes you need to jump a fence a few times, but after a few disasters she looked at me and said “I will get it in the end” at that point I realised what a great women she is. She has probably gone through her life with that theory, which is why she has been so successful at so many different things. Not like me, I have no patience at all, except when it comes to training horses, then I have loads, but I guess its because I understand horses and they do need time.

Anyway all went well and all three jumped super. I was happy with Romeo as he seemed so happy to be jumping again and I pray to God that now he is out of pain, he comes back to the way he was before.

On the journey home I nearly hit a lamppost for talking on the phone and when we got back to the yard Romeo had taught Vanilla his new trick of undoing the partitions, so all three horses were glued together like sardines the entire journey home.
