What a beautiful day here in sunny Essex.
My hair was looking great after my usual Monday visit to the hairdressers but unfortunately Alan stayed at the weekend and to say he messed it up is an understatement. We went for a lovely dinner on Saturday night to a pub in Windsor that I’ve been to several times before and had told him about it. Alan wanted to take me there on Saturday so off we went.
After a long drive from my house to Windsor, naturally I fell asleep most of the way. Alan didn’t mind as he likes his own company. Lol. We arrived in Windsor at about 8.30 and sadly it was a bit to dark to walk along the river so we just went straight to the pub. I couldn’t help but notice how busy the car park was, and I know it was Saturday but generally there are only a few locals that frequent the restaurant, but this time it was full with very flash cars. Anyway, we went inside.
OMG, it was full of bright lights and new decor which had completely changed the place. It was very busy and I couldn’t help but notice the clientele looked very Essex. I mean the crap side of Essex (very brassy) so we sat down next to a young girl with a Channel bag bigger than the table and a young lad in a hoody, can you imagine. They only stayed for one course and were quickly replaced by a loud table of six clearly from Essex as they couldn’t string a sentence together without using the #### word!
Anyway, we sat there in total amazement. Alan said, has Essex moved to Windsor. I couldn’t help but ask the restaurateur where he was from and how long had he had it for. Dulwich and 3 months was the answer!
In short, we had great food, enjoyed ourselves and left fast. It made me think though, are the rif raf of Essex getting fed up with the bad name Essex has and thinking of moving to better and more upmarket places. If that’s the case its quite possible that in the next 5 years the fast money that ruined the most beautiful county in the UK could in fact return back to its former glory with the rif raf moving on. So I may consider staying in good old Essex as I have always said its been very kind to me.
I am off to Arena UK for a week, leaving first thing in the am, providing the lorry comes back today! and Sabbers leg is back to normal, otherwise I’m not going which will be a big shame as everybody is there and it will be fantastic to ride Vanilla, Dakar and Sabbers. I will let you know.
Alan and I are getting on fabulous as ever. I cant fault him. I am cooking him a soup tonight although its a bit of an experiment. I hope he likes it. Its in return for looking after me so well all over the weekend.
I am not sure whether I have sold Cedrick as he was a bit sharp for the kid but if they have him they will keep him with me which is great. Also I now have every stable full with full liveries and no room for my own horses. I guess you could say business is going well, praise God. I’ve seen a good horse for my Egyptian customer, for me to compete at the 1.50 level so I’m kind of excited about that. I’m also hoping God will guide me through to the right one.
Anyway, speak to you next week …
