I have started to ride Agento for Claire.
She seemed very upset a few weeks ago because he had gone back to rearing and being very naughty. Firstly I took him off the Haylage and just fed him hay, really just to squash his temperament a bit.
That made a lot of difference as now not only does he come out quiet but he is easier to tell off when he plays up.
Today I gave him a jump round the course we have at home. Other than being wonky on his corners he jumped well. I hope she will be pleased that I have been schooling him again. I haven’t charged her so I am doing it because I don’t have so many in at the moment and have plenty of time.
He is a very nice horse and I’m sure like Bambi, if I ride him four times a week he will go to a show and jump well. It works for all my other clients. I do believe if you want to go to a show and jump quality rounds you really need a professional to school your horse for you.
I’m enjoying going to Pennies with Sky as she likes him a lot which helps. This week she gave me a big compliment and said how she thinks I do a very good job with my horses, they all have good mouths and are turned out well. She even said she thought I did a lovely job with them on the flat and how they always stand out in the collecting ring, I was really chuffed.
As coming from one of the best horse breeders in the country and who has produced horses and riders for international levels, it’s not like my Mum saying it to me. Which she always does.
