I have been so busy!
 
It’s been a while since I wrote but that’s just an indication of how busy I have been.
 
Yesterday I went to Keysoe to practice my turns with Sky at speed, so I expected I may end up with four faults, which I got as he is used to going fast and turning. But after Keysoe International (which I hope you all watched me in Canter Banter live streaming) I realised that just doing the turns gets you in the top ten but to win you really need to up the pace.
 
Actually Sky really likes this pace and was delighted and if I was honest the faults were mine. I’m now really looking forward to the National Championships at Stoneleigh, which is now considered the best show in the UK. Amazingly we qualified the 1.30 m there !
 
Sparkles has just had a brilliant season and has shown me how wonderfully genuine a horse he really is and has now earned the summer off. I’m very old fashioned like that. All my horses under six years old get massive breaks in the summer and a complete rest. I don’t believe in a week here and there, let’s face it they need to totally rest and grow strong and eat quality grass, which I have an abundance of, praise God !
 
I’m advertising for livery, first time in my life in fact, I don’t really want loads of full liveries anymore as they are really to demanding but one or two would be nice and I’m going to offer a variety of different services, hoping to attract some new clients, even better if they have lovely horses I can rid.
 
I’ve spent the summer as well as jumping, tiding up the stud  Sablet is in foal again to Sky High and Odette is growing massive and looking more and more like her mother each day. I’ve made many more turn out fields and painted  all the fences in dark wood colour, also all the stables, stallion paddock and next week Robert is going to start the horse walker ground and then within three weeks I will be using this amazing Claydon horse walker (best make walker, money can buy).
 
So all in all things are very happy and nice here. I have many new pupils and I’m teaching, which is just fab as it gives my old schoolmasters a nice job. Also I have a lot of my grazing fields (45 acres) rented out, and nothing looks nicer than seeing a heard of horses eating lush grass. 
 
Sky has been living out so far day and night and is as happy as I’ve ever known him to be, which is totally performance enhancing and he is now fat (which is amazing).
 
I’m sitting here waiting for Robert to finish painting one more gate black so we can go round and see my father and tell him my exciting plans for the house, he’s been really interested up until this point.
 
Anyway, I’m off to a new centre next week with Grace for two days, Netly Hall, and then on to Addington for the Nationals. So I have a lot to do.
